31. Aditya Tamang (Politician)

Shri Aditya Tamang, is a member of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly from the Soreng-Chakung constituency (2019 - Sikkim Krantikari Morcha). He is the son of Shri Prem Singh Tamang, the 6th Chief Minister of Sikkim.

30. Nilesh Lamichaney (Cricket)

Nilesh Lamichaney was the first Captain of the Sikkim Cricket Team in their inaugural competition at the List A level in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He became the first player to score a century for Sikkim, when he made 123 against Arunachal Pradesh on 21 September 2018.

Arun Kumar Upreti is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Sikkim Legislative Assembly from Arithang in the 2019 Sikkim Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha. He was elected as Speaker of the 11th Sikkim Legislative Assembly.

28. Bhawika Pradhan (Physique Model)

B hawika Pradhan , is a Physique Model and winner of the third position in the recently held 54th Asian Body Building and Physique Sports Championship, in the Maldives. Other than that she won a bronze medal at the 12th WBPF World Bodybuilding & Physique Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (2021). She had won various national and state-level competitions too.

27. BB Gurung (Former Chief Minister of Sikkim)

Bhim Bahadur Gurung (11 October 1929 – 28 March 2022) was the third Chief Minister of Sikkim. He held office from 11 May until 24 May 1984, the shortest term in the history of Sikkim. However, due to a lack of support and instability, Gurung's government was dissolved and a presidential system was implemented in the state.

26. Nirmal Mangar (Press Media)

Nirmal Mangar is a Sikkim State Awardee in the field of journalism (Sikkim Sewa Samman 2007). Winner of Ram Patro Memorial Award (2007) and Lagansheel Patrakarita Purushkar (2018). He had been associated with Sikkim Express, The Telegraph, Doordarshan and All India Radio. Presently, he is the Founder and Editor-in-chief of the Sikkim Chronicle, one of the popular online digital news platforms in Sikkim.

25. Sunandita Bista (Badminton)

Sunandita Bista , a member of the Badminton Association of Jorethang is a doubles specialist in badminton. She represented Sikkim in North East Inter State Badminton Championship held at Aizwal, Mizoram (2017) winning a silver and a bronze. She was the winner of the Sikkim State Badminton Championship (Women Doubles with Selina Rai, 2018), Governor’s Cup Badminton Tournament (Mixed Doubles with Jacob Khaling Rai, 2021), 1st Singtam Open Badminton Tournament ((Mixed Doubles with Uttam Jindal, 2022) and 2nd Governor’s Cup Badminton Tournament (Mixed Doubles with Uttam Jindal, 2022).

24. Mobin Rai (Football)

Mobin Rai  is an Indian footballer from Sikkim, he has captained the Sikkim team at the Santosh Trophy and Fateh Hyderabad AFC in I-League. Rai had shown his football skills in popular national football tournaments including I-League, Durand Cup, and IFA Shield. One of the few players from Sikkim to have won the Sikkim Governor's Gold Cup playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata.

23. Komal Gurung (Choreographer)

Komal Gurung is a proprietor and founder of Tapashree Dance and Music Academy. She completed three years of courses in Indian Classical Dance forms, specializing in Bharat Natyam from Bharatiya Natya Kalalaya, Kolkata. Her academy is affiliated with Prayag Sangeet Samiti Allahabad. She had been to talk shows on the National Radio Channel of Nepal and judged various events at the state and national levels. Her dance studio has represented Sikkim on numerous platforms. She provides free classes to children in Balniketan Orphanage

22. Rajendra Pradhan (Music / Badminton)

Rajendra Maskey Pradhan   is a multifaceted talent house. An ace badminton player, a dynamic singer and a versatile actor. His popular song includes Jhilo, Aajah pheri, Ekatirah and others. He has won more than 60 trophies in badminton in the last two decades as a player. Presently he is posted as Superintending Engineer, Power Department. Ravangla in South Sikkim.

21. Yapchung Kazi (Badminton / Radio Artist)

Yapchung Kazi was a former Radio Artist starting a radio career at Kurseong Radio in Sikkimese Language. Popularly known as AIR Gangtok Abba for his stint at All India Radio, Gangtok, his radio career spanned from 1962 to the mid-90s. Kazi is also credited as the first badminton player to represent Sikkim in a national-level tournament. He was the man behind the Sikkim Chief Minister’s Challenger Cup (1985), the first badminton tournament in Sikkim. Presently he is the advisor of the Badminton Association of Sikkim.

20. Nar Bahadur Bhandari (Former Chief Minister of Sikkim)

Late Shri Nar Bahadur Bhandari , was a three times Chief Minister of Sikkim and a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha). Popularly known as the architect of modern Sikkim, his most notable contribution was the inclusion of the Nepali language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India.  

19. Kedar Gurung (Literature / Padma Shri)

Kedar Nath Gurung is an Indian educationist and writer of Nepalese literature, known for his satirical expressions. He was honoured by the Government of India, in 2012, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.

18. Sonam Waiba (Guitarist)

Sonam Waiba  is a Guitar Maestro, a legend in his field. Conferred with the title “Magic Finger” by a popular rock music magazine Rock Street Journal (RSJ), he has performed as a guest guitarist with India’s biggest rock band ‘Parikrama’, and has also showcased his magical riffs all over the country.

Pooja Sharma is the Chairperson of the Sikkim Music, Drama, Dance and Film Board (SMDDFB). She took charge of her office at the Culture Department, Mannan Bhawan on the 4th of September 2020.

Safalta Biswakarma , a student of Paljor Namgyal Girls Secondary School is the winner of Sikkim's Top Model Miss Teen 2022 Season 2. She hails from Shantinagar, Singtam.

15. Santosh Nirash (Press Media)

Santosh Nirash was born in Pind Dadan Khan (currently in Pakistan) in 1928. She moved to Sikkim in 1959 as the headmistress of West Point School. Santosh Nirash started Broader News and Views in 1976—Sikkim’s first English monthly magazine. Santosh Nirash lamented the shortage of Hindi newspapers in Sikkim and thus, started Zamana Sadabahar in 1987 and worked as a journalist till her last breath in 2020.

14. Amar Subba (Marathon)

Amar Subba is synonymous with the word marathon in Sikkim. Age is just a number for him, aged 52 Amar Subba is an International runner had been participating in marathon competitions throughout the country and winning laurels for the state. He is the recipient of Sikkim Khel Samman (2015). Last year, Amar Subba participated in a 24-hour marathon in Mumbai in which he bagged fourth place in the overall category and secured first in the veteran's category. He covered a total of 159.2 km in 24 hours.

13. Uttam Pradhan (Actor)

Uttam Pradhan, a recipient of Sikkim Kala Samman (2012), the highest Civilian Award conferred by the Government of Sikkim, is an Actor, Producer and Director. Some of his popular films are Darpan Chaya, Piyari Bahini, Letter, Basai and others. Born to Late Durga Kumar Pradhan and Mrs Parbati Pradhan on July 30, 1974, Uttam Pradhan was the winner of Sinolchu Best Male Model of the Year (1995) and Mr Photogenic Colgate Palmolive (1996). Pradhan's debut Nepali film Darpan Chaya (2001) is considered a cult film that broke many box office records. His film 'Basain', was an official entry to Oscar in the year 2006 from Nepal. He had also been felicitated by Her Royal Highness Queen Komal Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah of Nepal. Uttam Pradhan is the founder and Chairman of the Sikkim Film Development Board, Government of Sikkim.

12. Bhaichung Bhutia (Padma Shri / Arjuna Awardee / Football)

Bhaichung Bhutia  is an Indian former professional footballer who played as a striker and Former Indian national team captain. He is the recipient of the  Arjuna Award (1998)  and the  Padma Shri (2008) . Some of his achievement includes being - First Indian to sign for a European club, the Only Indian to be inducted into the Asian Hall of Fame, India's second youngest international goal scorer (18ys), the first Indian player to reach his 100th cap, First player to score a hat-trick in Kolkata derby, Only Indian to win Golden Boot in an international club competition and others

  Namo Dixit , recipient of the Ram Patro Memorial Award (2012) is a journalist working as a Senior Correspondent in, the South district for "Sikkim Express". She is the first woman to start investigative journalism in Sikkim and started her news-reporting career with Weekend Review Newspaper in the early 2000s.

10. Yougan Tamang (Sikkim Sewa Samman/ Entrepreneur)

Yougan Tamang  is a Journalist, an Entrepreneur and the Sikkim Sewa Samman (2013). He is one of the co-founders cum editors of Sikkim Chronicle, a popular media house in Sikkim, and an Event Head at Mr Sikkim Manhunt.  

09. Ranju Lamichane (Actress)

Ranju Lamichhane is a former actress who had acted as a lead role in more than a dozen Nepali films. Her debut film Basain, was an official entry to Oscar in the year 2006 from Nepal. Her claim to fame was her role as 'Sweety" in a popular Nepali TV serial 'Tito Satya'.

08. Danny Denzongpa (Padma Shri / Actor)

Danny Denzongpa , recipient of Padma Shri (2003), the fourth highest civilian honour from the Government of India had been a lone flag bearer of Sikkim at India and International levels for a long time. A legendary name in Bollywood films since 1971, has also done films in Nepali, Bengali and Tamil languages. His International Hollywood film includes Brad Pitt's starter Seven Years in Tibet. His directorial venture Phir Wahi Raat is considered among the top five best horror suspense films in Hindi Cinema.

07. Chogyal Wangchuk Namgyal of Sikkim (King of Sikkim)

Chogyal Wangchuk Namgyal is the second son of Palden Thondup Namgyal, the last sovereign king of Sikkim. Educated at Harrow, he is also the present heir of the Namgyal dynasty and claimant to the Sikkim throne.  

06. Kunzang Bhutia (Mountaineering)

Kunzang Gyatso Bhutia climbed the summit of Mt Everest in 2008. He is presently the Chief Instructor at Indian Himalayan Centre for Adventure & Eco-tourism (IHCAE), Chemchey, South Sikkim.

05. Jas Lal Pradhan (Arjuna Awardee/ Asian Games Medalist/Boxing)

Jaslal Pradhan , a boxing legend from Sikkim was an Arjuna Awardee in 1983. He was a bronze medalist in the 1982 Delhi Asian Games in the Lightweight 60 kg category. He competed in the men's light welterweight event at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Remanti Rai  is a recipient of Sikkim Kala Samman, the Highest Civilian Award of the Sikkim Government in 2013 and the winner of North East Ke Superstar (2011). She has sung for Nepali films and had also come up with private albums. She is the founder of Remanti Sangeet Academy

02. Sandhya Gurung (Boxing)

Sandhya Gurung is the recipient of the prestigious Dronacharya Award (2021), India's highest sporting honour in the field of Boxing. She is a National Boxing Coach.  Lovlina Borgohain , her protege won the Bronze Medal in Tokyo Olympics Games.
