Namo Dixit, recipient of the Ram Patro Memorial Award (2012) is a journalist working as a Senior Correspondent in, the South district for "Sikkim Express". She is the first woman to start investigative journalism in Sikkim and started her news-reporting career with Weekend Review Newspaper in the early 2000s.

Nilesh Lamichaney was the first Captain of the Sikkim Cricket Team in their inaugural competition at the List A level in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He became the first player to score a century for Sikkim, when he made 123 against Arunachal Pradesh on 21 September 2018.
