12. Bhaichung Bhutia (Padma Shri / Arjuna Awardee / Football)


Bhaichung Bhutia is an Indian former professional footballer who played as a striker and Former Indian national team captain. He is the recipient of the Arjuna Award (1998) and the Padma Shri (2008).

Some of his achievement includes being - First Indian to sign for a European club, the Only Indian to be inducted into the Asian Hall of Fame, India's second youngest international goal scorer (18ys), the first Indian player to reach his 100th cap, First player to score a hat-trick in Kolkata derby, Only Indian to win Golden Boot in an international club competition and others
